On February 21, Englewood Health hosted the official kickoff meeting for the Office of Integration and Transformation, a joint effort between us and Hackensack Meridian Health. This office is the centralized mechanism to plan and design for our future as part of Hackensack Meridian Health, enabling us to provide even better care to patients and the communities we serve.
About 150 physicians and leaders from both organizations came together for the successful kickoff, which included remarks by EH CEO Warren Geller and HMH CEO Robert Garrett, who spoke about the mutual mission and goals for our future: being the tertiary academic medical hub in Bergen and Hudson counties and partnering with physicians to improve care and access for the community. OIT leaders Mark Shapiro, MD, Chief of Radiology, and Cathy Ainora, EVP and Chief Integration and Transformation Officer at HMH, also presented at the meeting.
As previously announced, there are 19 integration teams jointly led by EH and HMH leaders (see team leaders and members here). Following the executives’ presentations, each integration team met for the first time to begin mapping out their charters and integration plans. The buzz in the room was palpable, and feedback from the kickoff meeting has been very positive. The teams will continue to meet on a regular basis to continue this planning work, while regulatory filings are still underway. Stay tuned for more information on our exciting integration plans to transform care for our communities.
